THE FILM SOURCE TO FESTIVALS
Two new Film Source's Presentations are due in three forthcoming festivals: "Bollywood and Vine". Is invited to the forthcoming Fort Lauderdale and, Michal Bat Adam's "Life Is Life", will have its NY and Sydney premiers, at The American-Israeli Film Festival later this month and The Australian Jewish Cinema Festival, during November.
"Bollywood and Vine" - A new American film by Edward Jordon and Donald Farmer, starring Skye Aubrey, Jamey Schrick and J.R. Jones, set in modern-day Hollywood, is a contemporary romantic satire of Hollywood films from the 1940s, 50s and 60s. - An Indian immigrant tour-bus' driver In Hollywood, who gets more than he bargained for, when he writes a comeback vehicle for his screen idol, former B-movie starlet “Delilah Leigh.”
"It is a refreshing comedy, done in good taste, which will appeal to today's audiences, allover the world," said Alex Massis, who signed up "Bollywood and Vine", to be added to The Film Source's line of new North American films, like "Spook" (Canada), and "Duke House" (USA).
Veteran Broadway, film and television actress Skye Aubrey stars in the role of "Delilah Leigh." Ms. Aubrey is best known for her guest appearances on such classic American TV series as: "Batman," "Love, American Style," "Marcus Welby," "Fantasy Island," "Ironside," "Green Acres," and many more. She also holds the distinction of starring in TV's first miniseries, 1971's "Vanished." Once dubbed "television's child" by "TV Guide". Aubrey's costars, Jamey Schrick and J.R. Jones, make their feature film debuts in "Bollywood and Vine."
A new film by Michal Bat Adam:" LIFE IS LIFE". Premiered in North America, at The Chicago and the Montreal Film Festivals - will be premiered in Australia, next month at the Festival of Jewish Cinema, following to its NYC's gala, as part of the Israeli Film Festival, mid-October. "Life Is Life" is the ninth motion picture, written and directed by Michal Bat Adam who produced it together with Moshe Mizrahi, the academy awarded director ("Madam Rosa", starring Simone Signoret).
"It’s an ironic, bitter-sweet-story, about our addiction to lust, our longing for true love and the nature of the creative process. Macky, a writer, a married man about fifty is having an affair with Ayala, about thirty and mother to a ten-year old little girl"- This is how Michal Bat Adam describes "Life Is Life" and its main character, which is "haunted by his fantasies, and pursued by the realities of his life and his real and imaginary women".
Michal Bat Adam is a well known director, published author, screen and stage actress - She starred in numerous motion pictures in several countries. Her son, Daniel Mizrahi, scored the music for "Life Is Life", starring Moshe Ivgue and Yael Abecassis, with Moshe Mizrahi himself, in a cameo part.
Yael Abecasis starred in two films which were competing at the 2003's Venice Film Festival: "Dance in Three Dance", awarded the first prize, by the Festival critics and, Amos Gitai's "The Plot". Ms. Abecasis played main parts in several European films, like "Bella Ciao" from Italy or, the French "La Infant Perdu".
The Film Source's 2003-2004 motion pictures, were part of the official programs of numerous festivals, during the end of last year and the first nine months of 2004: "Spook", a Canadian new film was invited to the competition of the Shanghai International Film Festival, 2004.
